Led by the steady pitching of Ty Condon and Calvin Battersby, West Warwick held on to a 3-2 win over the Knights.

Condon, who picked up the victory, struck out five and allowed just one earned run on four hits in 4 1/3 innings of work. Battersby, who earned his first save of the year, struck out five batters in 2 2/3 innings of relief.

West Warwick struck first in the top of the first inning when Nick Brown received a two-out walk, moved to second when Colby Knott reached on a base on balls and scored on Sammy Corrado’s single to left field.

In the top of the second inning, WWCM made it 3-0 when Will Cornicelli (walk) and Ty Condon (single) scored on a fielder’s choice by Liam Gravier and a sacrifice fly by Kyle DaSilva.

From the third inning on, however, Zach Sutton and Jason Duclos would not allow a West Warwick runner to reach second base.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Knights rallied with two runs on an error, a double by Matt Burden and a sacrifice fly by Bennet Hicks.

The East Greenwich Avengers held off a furious Warwick PAL rally in the top of the seventh for an exciting 4-3 win.

William Klika pitched six innings of 2-hit ball to earn the victory. Josh Land picked up the save by getting the final three outs of the game.

EG;s Ryan Macaulay went 2/3 with a double and two rbi’s. Matt Friedman ended up with game winning rbi on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Cam Branch led PAL with two hits and two rbi’s.

After receiving a 7-0 victory over Narragansett/South Kingstown, the Cranston Bulldogs moved to 5-0 on the year.

Led by the three-hit pitching of three pitchers, the Cranston Bulldogs defeated Tiverton 9 – 0 at Cranston West High School.

The trio of Bulldog hurlers included John Nardollilo, Jake Latek and Christian Adams. They combined to strike out ten batters while scattering three hits.

Offensively, Bulldogs clean-up hitter, Nick Mason, led the team with two doubles and three rbi’s.

Down 4-1, the Bulldogs rallied to defeat Chariho in eight innings, 5-4!

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Christian Adams walk-off double secured the Bulldogs fourth win of the year.

Cranston (4-0), tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning when Gian Messina hit a timely bases loaded single.

Hitting Highlights: Christian Adams had four hits in the game for the defending State Champions.
